OUR SERVICES
TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS
WFMO brings awareness about female health by conducting specialist-led, three-day Woman’s Body and Health Recognition seminars. Since 2019, WFMO has conducted 13 seminars with 340 girls in attendance. Our seminars are very popular, as many schools, organizations, and individuals are seeking information on menstrual health.
During the seminar, the trainer describes the important issues regarding menstruation. Our trainers are skilled at motivating participants to share the problems and vulnerabilities they have encountered while on their period, as well as to find solutions for them.
Through the seminars, WFMO’s inspires the following changes in teenage girls:
Gained knowledge regarding the cycle of period hygiene;
An understanding of how to observe cleanliness while on their period;
Empowered, self-confident, and self-reliant attitudes—attendees see themselves as productive, normal human beings in Afghan society; and
Recognition that they are capable women with unique physical power.
Moving forward, WFMO aims to reach all Kabul female schools to share this health education not only with students but with their teachers and parents. Furthermore, we aspire to spread period and hygiene awareness through telivision and radio programs.
COUNSELING AND PSYCHIATRY
WFMO realizes the need for psychiatric programs in Afghanistan due to decades of violence in the country. As such, WFMO has developed focused psycho-social programs for girls, women and children who have been subjected to violence to help them overcome social, physical, and psychological challenges so they can succeed in their lives. Our services include psychological assistance through one-on-one counselling and group counselling. We also encourage mental health by bringing awareness to typical challenges faced by Afghan people and offer them ways to cope with those challenges.
PRINTING
At WFMO, we have created a printing capability. We print workshop and educational materials (e.g., banners, handouts, textbooks, brochures, magazines, and papers) for our own internal training and development workshops. We further offer these services for a minimal fee to external clients and use those funds to reinvest in WFMO programming.
